This scene of Singer's Lake Crescent Tavern was probably photographed by about 1918. Five people can be seen on the front part of the veranda facing the lake. The front steps were later removed and the front part of the veranda was later enclosed as is shown in the photograph at the bottom of this page.

This scene of Singer's Lake Crescent Tavern was also photographed by the early 1920's. The ferryboat dock that was used before the Olympic Highway was constructed can be seen in this photograph. The row of cottages is partially visible behind the dock and to the left of the main building. Several temporary canvas and frame tent cabins, and a windmill used for pumping water, can also be seen on the left side of this photograph.

Singer's Lake Crescent Tavern
This scene was photographed by about the mid to late 1940's. President Franklin D. Roosevelt stayed here, the night of September 30, 1937, while on a tour to assess the area for inclusion within a National Park. Nine months later, on June 29, 1938, President Roosevelt signed amended bill H.R. 10024 establishing Olympic National Park. The park boundaries have been changed several times since then.
