This scene from the 1940's shows Ovington's Resort, on Lake Crescent, Clallam
County, Washington. Ovington's Resort, which no longer exits, was located in
the vicinity of the present North Shore picnic area.
This scene shows the 1½ -story main lodge or “guest house”, which
had a veranda overlooking the lake, and an adjoining single story dining room wing on
the east end of the building. The dining room had a row of a dozen south facing windows,
which provided a sunny location to sit and eat meals, while enjoying
the view out over the glistening
blue water.
